Again, here’s where other teachers can be great resources. Decide to take turns. Teacher A makes a worksheet this week, Teacher B makes one next week, and you make one the following week. That way, you only write one page but reap the benefits for two additional weeks.
Remedial Work If your child studied fractions during the last school year but just didn’t quite ”get it”, don’t worry. Use printable fraction worksheets found on the internet to review with him. These worksheets won’t cost you a dime and you can find all you need.
They can be used for remedial instruction if a child needs additional lessons. This commonly occurs in math lessons when a child may need extra practice pages. Occasionally, a child may need to have the material presented using an alternate method than what is shown in the textbook to help him ”see it.”
Other activities for kindergarten include jigsaw puzzles. There are also worksheets that teach children about some biblical characters, and how to help a community. These activities are not limited to individual work. There are also worksheets that require a group effort to finish the task. This way, children learn to work in a team. This is a very effective group activity in helping them realize the importance of cooperation and teamwork.

You are wondering why this was better than writing answers on a worksheet, aren’t you? You will experience the difference yourself if you do this little experiment. Get out a piece of paper and write the entire fact 6 x 8 = 48 and at the same time, say the entire fact out loud as you write it. Say ”six times eight is forty-eight.” as you write 6 x 8 = 48. Now do this ten times. Go ahead, I’ll wait…
I think that everyone agrees that students today are weak in their basic arithmetic skills. Many adults are equally weak with basic skills but you probably will never hear them admit it. If you were to investigate this weakening of basic skills, most sources would point to the advent of the calculator; and there is some truth to that. But the beginning of the decline in basic skills actually goes further back–to the widespread use of copy machines. Yes, copy machines.
