The answer, of course, is YES they can. In my perfect world of mathematics education, no pre-school child is ever exposed to a worksheet of any kind. I would swing my magic wand, all worksheets would disappear, and the memory of them would be gone forever. In the real world, I know that simply won’t happen. There will still be some parents who will insist on using worksheets.
It’s unfortunate that anger issues are such a massive problem in today’s society. It’s even sadder to realize that children and adolescents have to cope with this problem. Fortunately people such as doctors and professional management counselors are taking a concern in kids experiencing difficulties with anger. As a consequence of this interest there are lots of support agencies and anger management programs made to specifically reach this age group.
Homeschool worksheets are vital adjuncts to effective teaching. They allow students to test their knowledge and offer a practical edge to learning. In addition, when used properly, worksheets provide immediate feedback to students and evaluation of a child’s progress to parents. Worksheets also free up the time of parents who are teaching multiple children so the parent can give each student individual attention.
There are some new materials being developed now based on what we are learning about how the brain learns. These brain-friendly materials should be an improvement over what has existed. I recently bought a book by Marcia L. Tate titled ”Mathematics Worksheets Don’t Grow Dendrites.” I highly recommend her book. She gives a great deal of information on alternative activities that are better for your child’s brain development and for learning.
Worksheets are a method of studying and revision that have been used for decades for a multitude of subjects let alone Spanish, as it makes perfect sense to break down large, often complex subjects into bite size chunks that can make it a whole lot easier to concentrate study on sections that are difficult and therefore need to have extra study time spent on them.
