Developing these worksheets doesn’t need to be a difficult process. Sometimes you might get stuck on something because you are over thinking it. But really, if you just think about how you have structured your material and pull out the main points, you have all you need to create thought-provoking worksheets.
Goal setting worksheets will help you break your goals into smaller steps that are more attainable. Seeing the big picture is important because you must know your final destination before you begin your journey. However, getting from where you are to where you want to be can sometimes feel very overwhelming.
Education vs Time Filler If your goal is to provide learning opportunities for your child, you will want more than a few pictures to color in, although this is an important skill to practice. Between the ages of 3 and 7, the so-called formative years, your child is ready and willing to learn. This is a great time to start introducing the basic skills that your child will use for the rest of their lives such as counting, reading and writing. With your help and supervision, your child can do math worksheets, alphabet worksheets and much more. If education is your goal, you may want a set of worksheets designed to teach your child all of the basic skills they will need for school.
Back in the old days, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills were practiced by writing the facts out by hand–maybe 10-20 times each–the entire fact. You are wondering why this was better than writing answers on a worksheet, aren’t you? You will experience the difference yourself if you do this little experiment. Get out a piece of paper and write the entire fact 6 x 8 = 48 and at the same time, say the entire fact out loud as you write it. Say ”six times eight is forty-eight.” as you write 6 x 8 = 48. Now do this ten times. Go ahead, I’ll wait…
The last step is to put the plan into action. Awesome! You now have a plan to reach your goal. It is important that the goal setting worksheet should be followed at all times, and it should be kept where you can view it daily in order to track your progress and remind yourself what you want to accomplish. If you go old school and keep it on paper, and make a couple of copies. Keep one at work, and carry one with you. If you’re always on a computer, or have a smartphone or tablet, create a worksheet you can access from anywhere. Cross off or delete each milestone as it is accomplished, and please celebrate! Give yourself that hour to feed your Facebook addiction, create your Google+ profile, eat that Twinkie! This is an excellent idea because it will promote confidence that you have made it one step closer to achieving your main goal, whether that goal is updating your blog from the islands or making enough extra money to help pay the bills. After your goal setting worksheet is complete, create a new goal, because now that you know what you want, and have the plan and discipline to get there, the sky is the limit!
This sounds like an awful lot, doesn’t it! A good set of preschool worksheets should cover all of this, and more. In the preschool years, repetition is the key to learning, but you should look for worksheets that teach the same skills in a variety of ways. This not only prevents boredom setting in, but also reinforces the concepts by encouraging understanding as well. The importance of reading to your child cannot be emphasised enough, and you should encourage them to ’read’ as much as possible too.
